Closet Organization

Yikes, sorry for the delay in updating this blog. April started with a cruise to the Bahamas with the sisters. Then I got sick for the second time this year. I've been suffering from acute bronchitis for over a week now...boo! I don't understand how someone can be sick twice in a year when the year is not even half over.

Fortunately, I was well enough to go to a rooftop party to watch the Royal Wedding last night :).

Anyway, back to my updates. I've been meaning to post some pictures of my closet. With all of the clothes and shoes that I've accumulated [see blog post #1], organizing them has always been one of the first things I think about when moving. In fact, the very first room I organized was the closet under the stairs. I transformed that into a shoe closet, complete with shelves [pictures to come later since my camera recently broke :( ].

I'm the type of person to organize my clothes by type and then by color. For example, I separate my clothes by tank tops, dress shirts, regular blouses, jackets, etc.

My secret? These velvet flocked, skinny hangers. I used to buy them at Ross or Marshalls, spending about $10 - $15
for 18 or 25 hangers.  Then my friend told me she saw them at Costco - 50 hangers for under $16.

Great closet makeover...the only problem I see with this is it just makes more room in my closet for more clothes ;).

CLOSET ORGANIZATION TIPS:
  1. Keep clothes organized by type
  2. Keep clothes organized by color
  3. Use the same color and type of hanger (it looks neater that way too)
  4. To utilize closet space efficiently, use a space saving hanger
